Well known as 'Red' or 'Red Jade', this is the one of the highest fermented oolong in the category of oolong produced in Fulu Tea District, Taitung County Taiwan. The fermentation level is known to be as high as 80-90%, hence it is also known as the black tea of oolong. Correctly termed, its unique production method of stirring tea leaves over heat, (key step of oolong production) and undergoing full black fermentation. This highly oxidised tea is rich in brown colour like a black tea, yet manifests a rounded sweet oolong aroma and mouth feel. For those interested in the tea history, Asia’s “Red” tea is translated to “Black” tea in the West, strangest things happen in history.
