Bancha Hojicha
Japanese Roasted Green Tea
Bancha is a classic Japanese large-leaf green tea made from the lower shoots of the tea plant. It contains substantially less caffeine than Sencha teas which are made from young shoots. Bancha Hojicha is made by roasting the Bancha leaves at high temperature until they turn reddish-brown. Filled with aromatic flavours, with roasted and nutty notes. This tea can be enjoyed with a slice of lemon or orange.

High altitude plantation of Da Yu Ling means that tea leaves grow slower and hence translate and develop its rich flavours slower into our mouths. Oolong has a wide range of fermentation between 25% and 70%. This Oolong manifests a fermentation of around 40%. This Taiwanese Oolong is based on the traditional specialty of the province of Gangxi in the south of China. Small-leafed Oolong tea leaves are mixed with fresh Osmanthus blossoms from Northern Taiwan’s perfect climate and landscape. Harvested early in the morning between 4 and 7am to reflect the best aromatic qualities for the scenting process before dried together with Oolong. Well-known for its relaxation and digestive properties, this yellow infusion has a mild, fruity flavour reminiscent of caramel. Osmanthus blossoms are amongst the three most celebrated blossoms in the East, alongside Jasmine and Chrysanthemum flowers. Due to the semi-fermented category of this fine oolong, it can last as much as 5 consecutive infusions, with the first few infusions representing grassy green tea followed by the last few infusions representing woody black tea… All while embraced in elegant blooming fragrance.

This Pu-Erh is grown in the Chinese province of Yunnan. Young leaves and buds from old trees are hand harvested and carefully selected in early months of the year between February and March in order to capture the most tender part of Pu-Erh. The appearance is unique and distinct with golden yellow aged buds as a result of the traditional fermentation process in humid conditions. In the history of Pu-Erh, all Royal Pu-Erhs were used as offering for Chinese Royals for hundreds of years. Used for diplomatic gifting, they are sometimes referred to as the ‘Treasure Pu-Erh’ or ‘Tribute Tea’. Mate is made from the green leaves of a tree which resemble the Holly.
